Our School Values

The charism of Mary MacKillop pervades the ethos of Our Lady of Mount Carmel school, encouraging the building of a sustainable, successful, Christ-centred community with common values which is witness to the faith and promotes a deep love of God.

The Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart of Jesus have been involved in the school since its opening in 1909.

The Carmelite priests ministered to the congregation of Our Lady Of Mt Carmel until 1982, at which time the remaining Carmelite priests in South Australia moved to Victoria. Diocesan priests were then appointed to the Pennington Parish until 2008.

In 2008, the parish of Mt Carmel amalgamated with the parish of Albert Park Queen of Peace and a Priest Moderator was appointed. Together with mass centres at Port Adelaide Albert Park and Findon we celebrate a rich and diverse parish community.

Our Lady of Mt Carmel has approximately 305 students from Reception to Year 7.
