Playing sport at an early age provides many benefits, including the fostering of leadership skills, physical development, good health and the encouragement of an enhanced range of social skills.
At Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish School students are involved in a wide range of sporting activities. Students engage in weekly Physical Education lessons with a Specialist teacher as well as daily fitness and other sporting activities led by all class teachers.
Students are involved in a variety of sporting clinics throughout the year led by local clubs and sporting federations under the Australian Government Sporting Schools Program.
Students are also able to attend carnivals and trial for representative teams through our school's memberships with primary school sports associations SACPSSA and SAPSASA.
With the support of parent volunteers to coach and manage teams, students can be involved in a number of after school sports, including Soccer, Basketball and Netball.
